For the Census team or whomever else ... the DOL APIs only seem to provide access to metadata; no statistical data. What is known of other Federal agencies having APIs that provide access to demographic-economic data?

I am unaware of other Agencies creating APIs. As far as the Census API, it is actual statistical data (not metadata).
Here's a list from the GSA of a bunch of agencies with developer pages: https://github.com/GSA/slash-developer-pages#readme
I'm not positive, but I believe there are a significant number of datasets (not just metadata) available via DoL APIs.
Here's an example of the kind of stats you can get out of one of the DoL's APIs: https://devtools.dol.gov/APISampler/Home/SearchIndex
Just in case you haven't seen this, here's a link to the DoL's main developer page: http://developer.dol.gov/
Logan-thank you. The DOL APIs only give access to metadata; one cannot use these to access CPI, CES or CEW statistical data. Love to know if I have missed something. DOL themselves (eg CPI) cannot answer these questions. the developer connection reaches a deadend.
more generally, consider https://github.com/GSA/slash-developer-pages#readme and then Education and then the API for NCES CCD -- it does not function.
