Are there plans to make economic data available through the API? It seems that most of the API focuses on location based demographic data but I am sure something like NAICS level data would be quite popular. Is this available somewhere else that I am not aware of? I have only seen http://www.census.gov/developers/
Build an app using Census data that identifies the best locations for manufacturing plants by major industries across the US. Using visual techniques, the user will be able to see key information that businesses use to decide whether to locate a plant in a given area.
Build an app that pulls the most useful variables for businesses from the Census API, with some user customization or drop down menus, and which easily ports into existing commercial software packages. This would allow commercial companies to easily use Census data and mash it up with their data to support new and existing business owners
Create a "community profile" tool that focuses on pulling from multiple data sets and creates a standard report that contains most, but not all, that someone would need for a business plan or marketing plan. The tool would generate a printable report around a custom geography, with the option to download the data behind the profile report. It would be very easy to use, and give the entrepreneur a quick and easy snap ...more »

I'd like to use census data to generate a US Population trending App that tracks birth and deaths by city, county, state and nationally by age, race, gender and community or neighborhood. This would be an app that can provide an overview of past trends, policies and their results from census data.

I'm new to using the API and was wondering if you have seen examples of using the API to retrieve data needed to build a population pyramid for population of a zip code.
If there are no examples, I would like to build it with a team and add it to the forum for public use. Let me know if you want to collaborate.
