http://www.census.gov/easystats/application/ calls the jQuery Templating Plugin from http://ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/jquery.templates/beta1/jquery.tmpl.js., which triggers a mixed content warning (and breaks the application in Chrome 42) when embedding EasyStats in an HTTPS page. The URL should be HTTPS or protocol-relative.

Hello, I recently obtained and validated my API key. However, when I attempt to enter a test URL in my browser window with my api key I receive a message stating "A valid key must be included with each data API request. You included a key with this request, however, it is not valid. Please check your key and try again."

Since about mid day yesterday I started to see very slow response times. Even selecting one variable is taking approximately 10 seconds. Requesting 50 is take minutes and sometime the server returns an an error:

The ACS 5 Year API is returning incorrect data for the DP02_0024PE variable. It should be returning a percent value but it is returning a sum.

 

Should be %:

http://api.census.gov/data/2013/acs5/profile?get=NAME,DP02_0024PE&for=state:01

 

It is returning same as this:

http://api.census.gov/data/2013/acs5/profile?get=NAME,DP02_0024E&for=state:01

I found a couple of errors in the variable list for SF 1 census 2010. For example P0050010 should be "Hispanic or Latino:" but is listed as something else on the variables page here

Hi,

I've tried for several days to request an API key from the census developers site with no success. I have filled out the form trying a couple different email addresses and have not received any additional information. I've checked my spam folder in each of the email accounts and no results there either. What is my next step to get an api key?

This call works:

 

http://api.census.gov/data/2012/acs5/profile/variables/DP02_0067PE.json

 

But not this:

 

http://api.census.gov/data/2012/acs5?get=DP02_0067PE&for=county:033&in=state:53&key=[key]

 

I get this:

error: error: unknown variable 'DP02_0067PE'

 

B* variables work with the same call specification.

... seems very slow. Can we expect this speed or is it just today ... or maybe something else?

I think there may be small glitch in the API for table B05006 for the 5-year ACS for 2012 -- something about the terminal, 161th variable:

The following call works fine for 2011:

http://api.census.gov/data/2011/acs5?get=B05006_161E,NAME&for=county:*&in=state:22

but when I try the same for 2012, there's trouble:

http://api.census.gov/data/2012/acs5?get=B05006_161E,NAME&for=county:*&in=state:22

Hi All,

I believe that the Census 2010 API documentation (http://api.census.gov/data/2010/sf1/variables.html) has an error for the table: P12A. Sex By Age (White Alone).

It appears that both P012A026 and P012A049 are attributed as Female: !! 85 years and over.

I believe that P012A026 should be 'Female' (as in the total of all females.

I'm trying the following call and getting nothing.
When I put it into the browser the page just hangs.
The response says the server received it and then it stops.


I'm calculating the average age of each city in the USA.

I get error: the 'get' argument must be a comma separated list of variable names with the following query:

In the first 1990 census table, there is no variable for Amer Ind/Esk/Aleut Males 12-13 yrs. In the age by race and gender group, the variables skip from P0120131 to P0120133, so presumably P0120132 is the missing age range. Using the variable in the data call results in an unknown variable error.
